Poor Kitty is sick. I mean, SICK. She hasn’t been to school in 3 days. I haven’t left the house in 3 days. I mean, HAVEN’T LEFT THE HOUSE. I long for the outside world, to touch the trees and hear the birds and visit Target.
This must be what prison is like.
The upside is that I haven’t exercised and I have been eating like I’ve been trapped in the house all week so I feel especially flabby. That’s good on the self-esteem.
But enough about me, my poor Kitty is sick. She has had a fever for 3 days, ranging between 100 and 103. She has been coughing and miserable. Copious amounts of green phlegm have taken up residence in her sinuses. Poor, poor kitty.
But, there have been a few upsides. Kitty’s Primary teacher brought her a bag of “Get-well soon” items, including a purse, stickers, yogurt, crackers, and a stuffed froggy. That was a glimmer of light for Kitty. And she’s been watching TV nearly nonstop. That’s definitely a glimmer of light for Kitty.
Our friend came over last night to help Myke give Kitty a blessing. I am grateful for good friends who will rush to our aid when we are so far away from family. And I’m certainly grateful for the Priesthood.
Kitty was feeling better this morning. Fever gone, cough under control, but a new symptom creeped up beginning at about midnight.
Pooping. Lots and lots of pooping.
I’m laundering 5 pairs of pajama pants as we speak and encouraging Kitty to eat something. So far it’s been chocolate milk and goldfish. Hey, whatever she’ll eat is fine by me.
Poor, poor Kitty. She’s never been sick this long in all her 6 years of living. I’ve never been stuck at home this long in all my 39 years of living.
We’re both hoping for a full recovery soon!
