I feel like I say these words everyday. With a baby and a husband, something is always rotten in Denmark. (Or Tennessee)
This Something Rotten was actually the play Sissy was in. You know, the play that kept us from a romantic anniversary weekend. I'm not bitter about it at all.
I kid, I kid. It was wonderful to see my oldest baby on stage again. Something Rotten is a musical about the invention of the musical and it's set in Shakespeare's time. It was actually pretty funny and I enjoyed it. Baby, not so much. She had to be escorted outside. I managed to keep her entertained for a bit. And then the Junior Mints ran out and it was mayhem. Mykey was a good sport and walked her down the street to a little playground while I finished the show. It's nice to have a teammate.
Sissy played an egg and the town crier and did a fantastic job. She also drew a self-portrait for one of the scenes and it was a marvelous drawing indeed. Our pictures were cruddy since it was dark in the theater and there was a lot of dancing and flailing onstage. It's hard to photograph flailing. We do what we can.
We celebrated Sissy's hard work with the requisite Bottle Caps. Her dinner choice was eating Chick-fil-A in front of the TV. There ain't nothin rotten about that choice.
Congratulations to Sissy!
