Mom Time

Well…it’s been almost an entire month since my last blog post so we all know what that means.  It means that I’m really getting the hang of this blogging thing!

Let’s talk about that one time in June when my mom came to visit for 10 days.  It was wonderful and I wished she would have stayed forever.  FOR-E-VER.  I was in heaven with her around.  HEA-VEN.

So what does a person do when their momma comes to town for 10 days?  I’ll tell ya what you do: you eat lots of chocolate and gossip.  I loved every stinkin’ minute of it. You also do a couple of outdoorsy things, because - you know - you’ve been eating a lot of chocolate and should probably move your fat bum a little.

Outdoorsy things like:

Strawberry picking.

And hiking at Shellburg Falls.

And going to the Portland Japanese Gardens where they have Koi fish the size of babies.

I love this picture – I’m apparently 17 feet tall and Michael is Quasimodo.  We’re a striking couple.

And don’t forget to go to the library, not because it’s outdoorsy, but because it’s just part of the routine.

It was such a great time.  My patient Mom sat in the backseat with Eva and played, “Guess the Drawing” over and over and over again.  This is when one person is the drawer and one is the guesser.  The drawer gives one clue and the guesser has to guess the drawing without looking at the paper.  I’m not exaggerating when I say they played over and over and over again.   My favorite clue from Eva came when she stated matter-of-factly one time, “Ok.  This is a ve-nicle.”  Then she drew an airplane.  It’s a ve-nicle all right.  My dear mom was a trooper.

And I sure love my Mom.

And I sure hope she comes back soon so I have another excuse to eat a pound of See’s chocolates in 2 days.
