Knee Slapper

Kitty makes me laugh.  Sometimes she makes me mad, and sometimes she makes me late, but most of the time, she makes me laugh.

She does it with tidbits like these:

Naming Cows

We were in the car playing a game coming up with different names for cows.

Me: "Moo-raca Cow likes to shake, rattle, and roll.  Moo-dy Cow can't decide if he's happy or sad.  Moo-n Beam Cow likes space."

Kitty: "If I had a cow that wouldn't eat fish I'd call him Moo-Picky."

A riddle

Kitty: "Who texts you early in the morning but not late at night?"

Me: "Uh...I don't know."

Kitty: "A weirdo."

Politeness Patrol

Mykey rudely let one rip in Kitty's presence.

Kitty: (disgustedly) "Eww! Daddy! Check your shorts!"

Weight Watcher

Kitty was wandering around with her eyes closed pretending she didn't know what anything was.  She came up behind me and started pinching my bum.

Kitty: "Does this bum belong to Mom or Dad?" Pinch, pinch.

Me: "It's Dad."

Kitty: "Noooo!  It's Mom.  I recognize your voice.  Plus, Mom's bum is way more jiggly than Dad's"

Career Goals

Kitty accompanied me to visit a woman named Maddie in our ward and she brought along some rocks from her collection.  Kitty's telling her all about them and going on about the different varieties of rocks she has.

Maddie: "So, are you going to be a geologist when you grow up?"

Kitty: "Nah.  I'm on track to be a scientist."

Scientist

Kitty: "Do you know what the most poisonous gas on the Periodic Table is?"

Me: "Definitely not."

Kitty: "It's symbol is Df.  Daddy's Fluffs."

She ain't wrong about that one.

And Here We Have Idaho...

The only upside to the Covid debacle is that we were able to escape to Idaho for a few extra visits this year.  Our annual trip to Coeur d'Alene turned into 3 trips.  It was glorious!  We did our usual things, like playing with Legos.

And feeding Dawg the salamander.

But we also had the amazing opportunity to try new things that Booney completely approved of.  Like a bottle rocket launcher.

And squeezing in between rocks in the lake so Booney can't see you or get to you in an emergency.

We took ourselves on an enchanting hike in the cold wind.

And on another outing found some incredibly hungry geese to feed.

Mykey dug a pit for Kitty.

And we helped my sissy put on a mini-prom for my niece and her friends.  It was beautiful and perfect right up until a storm quickly moved in.  The wind was incredible and the party wrapped up abruptly.  But what a great memory!

I feel like I should thank Covid for giving us extra trips to see family.

But I won't because Covid sucks.

So there.

Pumpkin Man

One of Kitty's school assignments was to decorate a pumpkin as a character from her favorite book.  Harry Potter was the obvious choice.  Kitty came up with a plan and I helped her execute it.

I think he looks mighty handsome and I'd score him an A+!

Are wizards impervious to rotting...

Feline

I guess getting a cat was the right choice.

I wonder if the cat feels the same.

Odd Man Out

 Remember that Sesame Street song?

"One of these things is not like the others,

One of these things just doesn't belong,

Can you tell which thing is not like the others,

By the time I finish my song?"

Remember that song?  Well, I bet you didn't realize this ditty was written about me. You see, Kitty and Mykey have a special bond that doesn't include me.

The name is Bond...Nerd Bond.

Here are just a few examples of how I don't belong in their kingdom of nerd.

I don't speak Binary code.

I don't want to snuggle with a cat.

I don't have a Darth Vader face mask.

I don't have a messy office.

I don't understand this sign.

Yes, the Nerd Bond is strong with these two.

And it warms my dimwitted heart.
